Day 16: We Are So Back

Well, despite our best efforts we didn't have a chance to post any updates during the hiatus. That didn't necessarily mean we weren't working on the movie, more that we didn't have as much downtime as we thought!

But yesterday, August 6th, our cast and crew reassembled to start the home stretch of principal photography. We are now primarily shooting scenes that take place in the main part of the Conner home, though we have a couple of quick location shoots as well. One of those was a scene that takes place at an ice cream shoppe, and we were so blessed to work with the incredible team at The Soda Bar in Murfreesboro, Tennessee as our shooting location.

From their website:

Located within the vibrant Fountains at Gateway, The Soda Bar is a dessert shop that offers specialty ice creams, craft sodas, floats, Hawaiian shave ice, and coffees. Featuring an indoor-outdoor bar, the Soda Bar design allows customers the convenience and enjoyment of staying engaged in the events and activities on the central plaza. With a modern twist on the old-fashioned soda fountain, The Soda Bar is an exciting hang out for friends and family of all ages!

The Soda Bar will be featured prominently in the movie, and Lulu (Dot's affectionate name for her grandmother, played by Janet Decker in the film) was treated to one of their most popular sundaes: the Buckeye, a peanut butter buckeye ice cream with Reese's Pieces, peanut butter drizzle, whipped cream, and a cherry in a waffle bowl. Obviously, we needed to have several ice creams on hand to go through all the takes! 😆

Here's a couple of behind the scenes shots from our day:
